CARNATIC VOCALS

Those willing to learn carnatic classical music have the opportunity to go through formalized training lessons spread over 3 major learning levels

BEGINNER Learning Goals:

•  Alignment of Sruthi
•  Understanding music notations
•  Knowing Swara Sthanams
•  Finding your Pitch
•  Basic rhythm patterns � tempo, thala
•  Singing in multiple speeds
•  Akaarams and basic vocal warm up lessons
• (ATS) Average Time Spent at this level � 9 months

INTERMEDIATE Learning Goals:

•  Understanding Swarams and Sahityams better
  ( Musical notes and Lyrics)
•  Singing in different scales
•  Getting to know your voice better
•  Mastering about 25 geethams
  ( intermediate lessons)
•  Different rhythm patterns
•  Ability to identify swarams on hearing them
• (ATS) Average Time Spent at this level � 1 Year

ADVANCED Learning Goals:

•  Getting to learn about 20 varnams at least and 50 keerthanais
•  Ecoding swarams from phrases and vice versa
•  Attempting swaram singing for various ragams
•  Deeper understanding of ragams and phrases used
•  Bringing in your creativity ( Manodharmam)
• (ATS) Average Time Spent at this level � Varnams � 2 years Keerthanai � 2 years+

CINE VOCALS
